The expression ‘whet someone’s appetite’ is often incorrectly written as ‘wet someone’s appetite’. The correct form is ‘whet’, not ‘wet’.

Whet somebody’s appetite:

To increase someone’s interest in something or their wish for it.
Examples:

  1. Let him have some money to whet his appetite before we discuss the contract.
  2. That simple smile whetted her appetite.
